New Year, New Me…NOT

Since this is the last day of the first month of 2018, it seeemed this would be the last appropriate time to talk about my New Years Resolutions. I’m not huge into New Years Resolution’s, but I do love to take time to reflect at the beginning of each year. I do a mixture of thinking, dreaming, and planning. One tradition that I’ve been doing for about five years now is coming up with a word of the year. I usually decide this after some prayer and reflection. For 2018 my word is A-D-V-E-N-T-U-R-E!!!

Adventure. What a word. What a loaded word. As of January 31st, I do have an idea of what that word will look like for me and my family, but a certain level of it is still a mystery.

So now I thought it would be fitting to share some of my goals/plans for 2018.

TRAVEL MORE!!!

This has been a HUGE desire of Jake and I ever since we’ve known each other. Not only do we want to travel as a couple, but we are both passionate about traveling as a family. So what did we do? The first week of January we planned a trip overseas with Ezra, Our ten month old son). This March we will be heading to Ireland & the U.K. for just over a week. We’ve also since, booked a long weekend to Orlando for the two of us, and also have several other trips in the works. On a practical level, Jake and I are planning to start trying for BABY NUMBA TWO towards the end of 2018, so we wanted to get most of our travels in before that.

Launching My Freelance Business.

For those of you who don’t know I’m a Licensed Esthetician & Makeup Artist in the Washington D.C. area. Since my little munchkin was born ten months ago, I haven’t done much in my professional arena. That’s about to change! Come February I’m going to be loading up my makeup kit, and back on the market for freelancing. I’m so happy I took the time off with bug, but have missed my interaction with clients and the creative juices that come with being a freelance makeup artist.

Grow My Youtube Channel To 10,000 Subscribers.

I made a whole video on my Youtube Channel(KatieKat) about my plans and goals with Youtube this year. If you would like to watch that to you can CLICK HERE! When I say my goal is to reach 10,000 Subscribers, I want to make it very clear that I value every single subscriber that I currently have. I am so thankful to have the group of people I do watching my videos. I also would love to see that community grow, and be able to share my thoughts, reviews, and knowledge with more lovely people. In the world of social media, I’m fully aware that the higher numbers you have, generally the more opportunities that are presented to you. As a mama who always wants flexibility in my career to be there for my lil chicks, Youtube and blogging has proven to be an incredible platform to be able to be a part of.
